Relationships are just so amazing in the beginning! Things tend to be absolutely wonderful (all the time) both parties are really enjoying the Honeymoon phase, that’s when both people are on their very best behaviour trying to impress their partner; often going above and beyond to show just how committed they are to the relationship.
While doing some browsing on the topic I came across a couple of interesting thread posts, I was most interested in finding out what exactly most people defined the honeymoon phase as, as well as how long this phase typically lasted.
http://www.askmen.com most people said 6 months to 1 year
Someone rephrased the question to:
At what point in a relationship does work and sacrifices begin to register as “work” and “sacrifice” in your mind? I think that is when a lot of people wake up and acknowledge inequities in the division of labor, concessions made to their partner, etc.
People get comfortable and then they have a tendency to get complacent! Sad, but unfortunately for many it’s true. They no longer make a concerted effort to make their partner feel loved. Whatever happened to that occasional sexy outfit or that bed covered in rose petals? After a while these two people that were madly in love (and likely still are) no longer feel the need to put on their best outfit or more importantly hold their tongue.
It is at this point (in my opinion) that the relationship truly begins. It is at this point that many couples begin to have difficulty.
Here are a few tips to help cope with the ending of bliss and the beginning of reality:

1. Communication is key- keep it open and calm. If you’re having difficulty use other methods

2. Don’t completely forget the romance- sure you may not go out on a date every Friday night, but make sure to remind the other people just how special they are to you

3. Do not use sex as a medium – while Sex is enjoyable it should not be used as a tool to forget the problems at hand! Remember after the shower your problem will still be there!

4. Every once in a while remind yourself how you and your significant other fell in love in the first place. Sometimes all you need is a reminder!
Just remember this is life, you cannot be on a constant vacation but you can enjoy what you do so much that is does not feel like work!
